Moon...or trying not to moon Oak style...

Oak decided the other night that she wanted to put her jammies all by herself. So she got both legs in one leg and kept trying to pull her pants up. That didn't work so she pulled her pants down. She then attempted again and got it right, almost. She just couldn't get that waist up over her diaper so she walked around until we went to bed with a diaper moon. It was so funny watching her try to get dressed.

First Happy Meal...

So I took Oak to get her first happy meal. She ate most of the fries, and two chicken nuggets all by herself. After that we played with her toy for about an hour. It was so fun and she is so cute!!!

Going private...

Due to some recent unappreciated activity we are going private so anyone who knows how to go private please comment back so I can learn how to do it ha ha

I am just a little bugged right now with the way our country is going. People thinking that money grows on trees. Not taking into consideration that this so called "magic-money" is coming out my pocket to take care of everyone else and their self indulgences. People thinking that they have it made right now. Great benefits and no effort earning them. It's called Integrity people. Being proud of who you are, and your HONEST HARD WORK! Not relying on a "pick-me-up"plan. Grow a pair, get up off you duff, and take care of your own family. Quit making me do it. We need to stand strong. Remember our morals and values, and now more than ever before in history, we need to represent! Be who you and Be proud of it. Don't let anyone or any stupid thing passed affect the way we live, the way we take care of our families, and ultimately how we EARN our salvation. Nothing is given to us. Nothing is easy. It was never meant to be. Sorry I am just a little fired up by recent events. Take care, and KEEP THE FAITH!

Change of plans...

So we had our move date set, a new apartment, incredible land lords, beautiful view, great job, moving van scheduled, and stuff starting to get packed. Funny how life works. You are given something that you have wanted for a while. It almost seems to good to be true. I have come to find that if it seems to good to be true it usually is. Life is not meant to be easy. No hand outs, no yellow brick road, no paved perfect way that we can travel without heartbreak. Heartbreak makes us who we are and challenges us to turn to the ONE who is all knowing. We are not moving to Logan. Some things didn't work out the way they were supposed to. All is okay though. The grass has always has been greener on the other side and I see no reason why it can't be that way now too. The Lord has a plan for us. We are blessed enough to still have a great job, school, place to live. I have even re-decorated our current place just to make it seem new. haha I know that it isn't new but it has helped change the scenery a bit. We are blessed and grateful for it.

Craft Journal

So I was a little inspired by the movie "Julie and Julia". Watch it, so cute. I am not wealthy but I don't want my home to reflect that. I love decor and I decorate every inch of my house. I can't handle stark white walls. In order for me to feel at home, I need to see "me" everywhere. My new home will reflect this. I love hand me downs and I have never bought anything for full price. I LOVE BARGAINS. I love looking at Pottery Barn. com and watching HGTV for inspiration. When I see something cute I try and do it too; just for cheap. And I do. All of my projects are experimental because I honestly don't have the slightest clue how to do anything, so I improvise and do it the way I think it will work. Thank heavens, usually it does. This has made me want to share my ideas with you. I do lots of house decor and I love doing clothes and purses too. I also can't afford the newest and greatest clothes and accessories so I make alot of my stuff out of second hand or hand me downs. To look at it though you wouldn't think so. I definitely have a statement and everything around me reflects that, but I love it. I want to journal all of my experiments and share them with you. In this tough economy every cent counts. "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." I hate doing with out so join me and lets think of ways to not do with out with out spending anything or spending as little as possible. I look forward to more projects and hearing form you guys.

Craft Journal: Bedroom

I have slowly over the last year been pulling elements together for my bed room. I found this super cute bed spread at K-mart for $30. It came with the spread, 2 shams, and a little accent pillow. The soft turquoise blanket goes under the spread,$30 at Wal-Mart. I went to the cloth store and bought 4 yards of cute cloth that I thought would compliment my bed spread. The old cute cloth ladies usually have the measurements for queen, king, twin, etc. I used an old top sheet that I no longer use and cut it to the size of the box spring. I measured the amount of cloth for the dust ruffle by starting at the top of the box spring and going to the floor. I didn't want it to rub on the floor so I did an inch or two above the floor, 15 in. Cut the cloth accordingly and sewed it to my old sheet. Put the old sheet on the box spring and the dust ruffle hangs just perfect off the side. My body pillow did not coordinate with my bed, so I covered it with the remainder of the dust ruffle cloth. No Zipper, just sew up the side, because I still can't do zippers. I made a little accent pillow out of an old living room pillow and 2 more coordinating rectangles of cloth(the stores do sell just little rectangles) and tied a bow with the dust ruffle cloth. I made simple curtains out of the dust ruffle cloth and folded two strips of cloth and sewed them to the top of the strips of the dust ruffle cloth. SO EASY!!! The head board is made out old fence planks from my in laws house. I sanded, painted the flower, sanded again, and in the holes that once held the planks to the fence with a nail, I tied some strong wire together to keep the planks from separating. I plan on hanging this art project behind my bed as a head board. Cost $40 for the cloth. Comment you questions. ENJOY!
