But you just started crawling!?...

My sweet Oak just started crawling and now she is crawling to furniture and using it to stand up!? What the? There has got to be some kind of a set time limit that a baby has to crawl before they start standing! My little girl is getting so big so fast. I can hardly believe it! Oh yeah and she had her 6 month appt even though she is 7 months old. She was 17.5 lbs and 29 inches long. She has grown a foot since she was born! She is so big, ohhhhhh tear!!!!:(

My Haven

Let me first start out by apologizing for sometimes using this blog as a journal but getting my words out in the open has always helped me to feel better. I am not one for locking my emotions inside of me. Anyone who is close to me or has been can tell you that I wear everything out on my sleeves. So here we go, I am so grateful for the constant lessons that the LORD sees fit to teach me, no matter how many times he has taught me the same lesson before. I am hard headed and need to be taught often. I am grateful for my strong marriage and for my best friend. He is incredible and I am so grateful to be head over heels for someone who feels the same way for me and always has. I am grateful to raise my daughter in a strong gospel oriented home. I am grateful for the HAVEN that this provides me with everyday. I am grateful for the ablility to chase away anything that threatens the sanctity of my marriage, and my home. I am grateful to live in a place where I am free to live, worship, and love the way that I want. I am grateful for home and family and for the knowledge of the sacredness of these things that I have been raised with and I look forward to the opportunity to raise my daughter the same way.

Peek-A-Boo

So Aaron started this new fun thing with Oak where he will hold her and I stand behind him. Being that he is a foot taller than I am it works pretty well for Peek-A-Boo. I jump out from behind him on the left and right side and before long Oaklee would start looking for me by leaning to the left and right. So I had her sitting in front of me and my knee would sometimes block her from seeing me but she started popping her head out from behind my knee and smiling really big so I thought that I would get a picture for ya.

Generation after Generation

My heart I swear is going to jump out of my chest right now and as I try to convey to you what I am feeling and thinking right now I pray that I make no mistakes in my typing so that you can fully understand where I am coming from. So let me apologize in advance for my excitement. While my father was staying with me after Oaklee was born he went to Nephi to talk to an older gal who is a member of my family distantly. She told him stories and left him with just a couple of pictures of past family members. He just called me and said that he recieved a package containing history that dates back to the year 800. He was spouting off the names of these people and there must have been 35 or more generations of my family. They have been found and we must learn if there work is to be done. What a blessing it is to have people that keep records on earth so that others in the future can find the past. What a blessing we have to be members of an incredible church who have the resorces to bring lost souls back to their Heavenly Father. I can't wait to get started on this great work and I look forward to sharing my progress with you. Thank You DAD!!! I can't wait!!!

Thank Heavens for the Knowledge We Have

My sweet great-grandmother passed away this morning. We have been expecting her to go for sometime but the reality of this time is sort of surreal to me. I am not sad but happy which is something that is not normal to say in a time of mourning. I am sad to think about the woman she was, the strong quiet woman with the sweet closed mouth smile. Hugging her frail body when we were able to see her. To hear her talk of her family and about grandpa the few times that she did. To see her testimony of eternal family running around the camp grounds of Utah. Being able to watch the tears flow from her eyes while I watched her hold my daughter, the product of 5 generations of good women. To hear her call her a little rugrat as Oaklee lay in her lap. I love this woman. I am so happy to think about the homecoming that she received. Being once again united with her sweet heart, her sons, our dear Savior, and our Father in Heaven. Seeing her parents and family members of the past. Seeing the great prophets, Adam, Noah, Nephi, Joseph. What a blessing we have been given to know the truth and to live it. I love family and I greatly look forward, without fear, to the time I will be reunited with this incredible woman.

Pilates, Earings, Toofs, Ma Ma!

So just a few updates. You can probably guess what those are based on the title of this post. I am so creative, ha ha can ya tell? So we call her pushing up on her very tip toes "Oaklee Pilates". She is such a hoot! We peirced her ears and by we I mean Grandma Shelly holding her still in the chair while mommy walked 8 stores away so as to not be able to hear a single bit of unpleasantness from her sweet Oak. So thank Grandma! You Rock! Anyhoo they turned out cute! Then it may look like I am torturing my poor baby but I am not, I swear! I just wanted to share her adorable little toofs with all of you. I know they are from Hell but not so much anymore unless she decides to take mommy's feeding device with her in her mouth while she turns her head to look around. ha ha no blood so we are good. And last of all she can finally say MA MA! After the repetition and lots of yummy treats, she can call me! Woo Hoo! I love it! Enjoy!

She is almost there!

She is up on her hands and knees now! It is just a matter of her moving in a forward direction instead of backward. She also likes to pound her hands on the ground when she is laying on her tummy. It is so cute!
