It's a GIRL!!!

My sister is having her first baby and I could not be more excited. I picture a dark haired dark eyed Oak. She was lucky to marry someone tan haha. She will be gorgeous, just like her parents! I am on a mission to make as much as possible for this little poop and I am starting with the crib bedding. So join me on my journey to creating the most posh living quarters and clothing and accessories ever known to a baby, well at least ever known to my hands and sewing machine. It will be great! If you have any ideas for me please comment. I do have a rockin little lady of my own so there is little that I haven't already done or tried but still I appreciate all the help I can get. Much love!!!

Living Room Finale...

So after a year and half of living in my home, I am pleased to say that my living room is finally complete. I cannot document the exact cost but I will tell you that a majority of my things are refinished hand-me-downs and DI, from my yard, discount craft boutiques or gifts. I LOVE A BARGAIN!!!! So here ya go. Oh and please forgive the visual overload, I am little proud of what I have done. :)

Sweet Simple Days full of this....

Is it totally weird to have a toddler as my best friend? I don't think so. I am so over the top in love with this kid I feel as though I might burst. I am even more grateful that my incredible other half and created her through our eternal love for each other. I truly am a blessed woman.

Spring has sprung and so has my garden...

Today was so beautiful that I decided I absolutely could not stay in doors. I went to Lowe's and for the first time bought myself some flowers, strawberries, tomatoes and cilantro(YUM)!!! I had the wreath on the door for a little bit and the back of the chair and old drawer I found in my dumpster. I know it sounds gross but they were so cute I just couldn't pass it up. The barrels I got at Cal Ranch and the star and picture frame I already had. I truly am so proud of it and so excited to start a garden. I am also starting some peas and carrots. I will keep you posted on how that goes.My orphan daughter. OHHH I love her!
I think this picture could totally be a card.

First comes First...

I feel so tired and frustrated at the mess I have got myself into. You all know that I recently took on a full load of classes and how excited I was about it. I LOVE SCHOOL!!! I love learning. I love being challenged mentally. I love working towards a goal. I love change and progress. When I was not in school I felt like I was sitting stagnant in an ocean full of toys, diapers, and laundry. Now that I have thrown a full school load on top of that, I find myself being the most stressed I have been in years. A homemaker's schedule is chaos and I have over the last year and half developed a new appreciation for all of the women I have ever known that took the mother step before I did. This is hard. This is exhausting. This is stressful. I miss my husband. I miss my baby. I miss a clean house and dinner on the table. I miss no stress. I want to be a wife and mother and now I know that the teacher can wait. I want to support my husband in his work, school, and calling. I want to take my baby to the park and make her laugh. I want to do laundry and not worry about my assignment that is already a month late. I have learned that my family is my first priority and they come first above all and anything. So I hate to say, I am quitting school to pursue the things that are more important to me at this stage of life. School will come later but the happiness of my family comes first now and always will.

Sweet man of my DREAMS....

So I was laying in bed last night and I hear Aaron say something in his sleep. This is about how the conversation between us went.
Me:What did you say hon?
Aaron:They call me unroooroooroooly.
Me:(giggle) What?
Aaron:They call me unruly.
Me:Who calls you unruly?
Aaron:The people.
Me:What people?
Aaron:The people at church.
Me:Why are they calling you unruly?
Aaron:You have to obey.
Me:(giggling but a little freaked out at this point) You have to obey what?
Aaron:The commandments.
Me:(now full on laughing) The people at church call you unruly because you need to follow the commandments?
Aaron:No.
Me:Honey what are you doing right now?
Aaron:Sleeping

Ha Ha Now tell me that is not the sweetest thing ever. For all of you that have ever even met Aaron, the first thing that will be able to tell is that he is anything but unruly. My cute husband dreaming about obeying the commandments. I think that he has been listening to one to many conference talks right before bed. ha ha I love you Aar!

Thinking....

As much as I love conference, scary thoughts begin coming to mind after each session. Am I ready to meet my maker? Am I spiritually prepared? How is my food storage and if need be do I even have enough to share through the Law of Consecration? Will my two favorite people be okay if my health takes a funny turn again? How will I finish my unfinished craft projects? What about my scraps cloth and what an expensive waste that would be? Will someone have to clean out my house and find my secret stash of dirty laundry and unclean dishes that I have not taken care of? Will someone find out just how messy I really am? Uh Hell No!!! So that is why after this beautiful Easter weekend of celebrating the Resurrection of my Savior and an AMAZING General Conference, I start today! Because honestly what is better than starting anew on a Monday?

Instead of buying more cloth(I tend to like the pretty expensive ones) I am going to put good use to the scraps I already have and cloths that I no longer wear. So keep an eye out for creative no cost projects on my blog these days.
I have heard that the spirit cannot dwell in any unclean place so today I clean my house and get organized. I will try and find good no cost or little cost projects for organization as well.
Lately I have been really stocking up on my food storage and we have decided that instead of eating out, that money I would have spent doing that I will now spend on building up my food storage. Saving money for important things, what a funny concept! I will also begin studying the words of the past and applying and retaining them. Who would have thought that following the commandments would bring happiness? Sure stumped me! ha ha

And now finally, I will love harder on the two greatest things that Heavenly Father has entrusted to me.
Seriously, Who can resist this gorgeous, heat melting face?
and this face too? ha ha I love you baby!

So there you go, today I start and I literally will document every bit of it in hopes that Heavenly Father will count that as my journal( I am a terrible journal keeper) God bless you all in your endeavors and your journey to spiritual preparedness.
